Job Purpose

Design and develop software systems and applications, being responsible for high-level decision-making in the development process, deciding on the design, technical measures, platforms, or programming standards used in projects considering obsolescence and security for technology.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Curate strong relationships with business colleagues, understand business strategy and goals. Make recommendations to support delivery of business outcomes.
  • Produce high quality solution designs and proposals for software / infrastructure to meet business needs.
  • Identify project stakeholders and desired outcomes, analysing operational and non-functional requirements (performance, availability, scalability, obsolescence, security, etc.).
  • Propose system architectures and components which comply with EA direction and design principles.
  • Ensure strong focus on information security and that all proposed solutions are secure by design.
  • Select the technologies for implementing each component and interoperability across the solution.
  • Monitor the architecture and vendor roadmaps after system implementation, proposing updates when appropriate to ensure ongoing reliability, value for money and security.
  • Ensure all design / architecture documentation produced is of a good standard, regularly updated and stored in the Architecture Repository.
  • Always promote a culture of finding the best way to perform different team tasks
  • Keep abreast of developments in technology, vendor roadmaps and industry trends.
  • Work with Compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards.
  • Build constructive relationships with IT colleagues such as Solutions, InfoSec and Infrastructure and collaborate on new designs to help ensure good technical fit.
  • Knowledge of Architecture frameworks and tools such as TOGAF or Archimate.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, knowledge not only in theory also know how to do it.
  • Be a sponsor of technical documentation across IT and lead design and presentations of HLD&LLD.

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or similar.

Knowledge & Experience

  • IT Infrastructure, software and data
  • Architecture frameworks, modelling and methodology.
  • SDLC, Devops
  • Expertise in Azure(other clouds is a plus)
  • Service Management Process and Methodology (ITIL).
  • Ticketing tools (Jira).
  • Advanced English (C1).

Experience and adaptation

  • Previous experience in a similar role: More than 8 years
  • Previous experience in the sector: Not required (Desirable)
  • Adaptation time to the role: 6 months to 1 year
