Risk and Compliance program management

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Examination Prep & Regulatory Issues: Assist with preparation, coordination and execution for regulatory examinations, bank audits, and regulatory action items through meeting attendance, information gathering and issue follow-up; manage examinations, including assisting regulators with understanding business functions and providing relevant information in partnership with Corporate teams. 5%

Policies & Procedures: Develop, manage and maintain corporate compliance policies and procedures to ensure the Company abides by the necessary rules and regulations. Reviews business policies and procedures for compliance implications. 10%

Business Partnering: Works with management to establish an appropriate risk & compliance culture throughout the company including, direct on-going consulting with stakeholders, reviewing and assessing documents, business practices and procedures including training content against compliance requirements. Promotes understanding of key regulations by translating compliance and legal requirements into business requirements and by educating various business units and team members in applicable relevant federal guidelines. Identify inherent risk in business processes. 20%

Risk Assessment / Compliance Reviews & Audit: Design, plan and conduct risk assessments at enterprise level for covered areas, specific regulations and related processes. Perform compliance testing, work in conjunction with Risk Audit teams to validate compliance risks, audit, testing, reporting and remediation. 30%

Issue Management: Works on compliance special projects, such as monthly trend reporting, analysis of issues, performs root cause analysis, escalates as necessary, remediation for issues not being addressed timely or completely to ensure compliance. 20%

Leadership Reporting: Creating appropriate reporting for Business partners, Business leaders and function leadership via various means like PPTs, E-mails, SharePoint sites etc. 10%

Perform other duties, as assigned. 5%

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's    FIELD OF STUDY:  Any

EXPERIENCE:  3-5 years in Regulatory affairs, Consumer lending compliance or Risk Management Experience in sub-prime consumer lending or financial services,

CERTIFICATION(S): Variable

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Excellent understanding of MCM business , its day to day operations in call center, Legal Collections, Consumer Support services & other functions will be preferred

  • Good knowledge of Legal/ Regulatory requirements along with Risk and Compliance Program

  • A self driven, resourceful individual who is meticulous in his day to day activities

  • Ability to identify opportunities & propose effective solutions

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills to develop effective partnership with business’s across the organization

  • Ability to develop and exercise business plans, policies and procedures and may also be responsible for various projects to improve efficiencies

  • Proficiency with MS Office (PPT, word, Outlook, Excel)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Master's or Advanced                           FIELD OF STUDY:  Legal / Regulatory

EXPERIENCE: 

Experience in Risk or Compliance programs or governance. Experience with Regulators or Risk management

CERTIFICATION(S):  ISO31000

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in policy writing in policy review or writing and experience with Regulators or IT risk management
  • Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook or other reporting software
  • Useful Abilities
  • Problem Solving and Analytical skills
